Embroidery digitizing is a
process by which an embroidery machine stitches a design onto a garment or
other textile. Digitizing is the conversion of an image into embroidery
data – information that defines the position, size and orientation of each
stitch as well as the thread that will be used to make each stitch.
Digitized files are used in all types of embroidery machines such as household and industrial home use embroidery machines, computerized commercial embroidery machines (sewing machines), automated digitizing sewing systems (automated production) and needle-based equipment for fringe trimming.
The scanner converts the design to a computer format, allowing the digitizer to use the most original artwork without having to recreate the design. Many embroidery digitizing systems allow digitizers to transfer designs directly into embroidery digitizing programs without the use of intermediate software.
Number of stitches: Each logo consists of a number of stitches, the number of times the needle has passed through the garment. The cost of embroidery excavation is calculated according to the number of stitches. This also determines the price per "click" (that is, the embroidery per item).
Frame: Each item to be embroidered must fit in a frame. These vary in size, allowing for embroidery to small items, such as purses, to large sites on the back of large overcoats.
Color and color changes: When logos are digitized, the machine records "Stop" every time it needs to change color. The color of embroidery can be changed for different garments. Unlike printing, changing the color of embroidery does not add any extra cost.
Logo: Embroidery design consisting of one or more letters, usually initials and names.
